by vaguely criticizing american pop culture

as the shelling
blows up buildings

and the refugees flee
by the hundreds of thousands

over here
another pop singer
in leather

sings songs about peace
love and understanding

and demands
to be declared

both a genius

and a goddamned
humanitarian too.
